Bank of Granite has served their customers for over 100 years with branches across Central and Western North Carolina.
As a service to their customers, Bank of Granite displays its interest rates on its website and via digital monitors located inside each branch office for walk-in traffic. However, interest rates for CDs, IRAs and Savings Accounts change constantly. These rates affect money on both sides, so it is a critically important, but difficult, part of their business to manage. In addition to the website, there are 20 branch locations. And the digital monitors had to be updated individually. This was a tedious and time-consuming process, and required multiple staff to maintain.
An application already existed for the digital monitors. And the interest rates was a matter of updating the home page via HTML software. nickgreene.com retro-fitted the application for monitors, and built a new set of application tools whereby the rates could be managed from a single point of data entry. No more HTML software. No more micro-managing the digital monitors. Where multiple staff were once needed, now one staff person could manage the rate information as easily as posting a wall comment on Facebook.
And as forward-thinkers, we added tools that allow Bank of Granite staff to set rates that change on future dates (i.e. on weekends or Holidays). It's a 'set it and forget it' feature.
Because the rates could be updated quickly, it freed Bank of Granite's staff to spend more time serving their customers. This boosted both productivity and customer satisfaction.
